'Byproducts' explores what it means to make art that is more sustainable. These pieces consist of laser cut scraps, paint stir sticks, and dried old airbrush paints. All of this would have been destined for the trash, if not made into more art.

I don't necessarily consider this assemblage, or found object art, because all of this would be trash was created when I made other pieces of art, or restored old vintage posters. The sculpture, 'Mutualistic Symbiosis' found in the installations section of this website, yielded many small pieces that I reassembled into various shapes. These shapes are reminiscent of diatoms and flowers. I named most of them after native California flowers, wanting to draw attention to the beautiful, yet imperfect delicate balance of life.
